UTME! Partners with the Museum of the City of New York
From November 22nd, 2024-August 10th, 2025, Uniqlo is sponsoring the MCNY for their upcoming exhibition: Above Ground: Art from the Martin Wong Graffiti. Martin Wong was one of the most distinct documentarians of New York City, and loved underdogs. In his art, he portrayed scenes such as people hanging in rundown stairwells, to graffiti artists painting in the dark.
The collection for the exhibition was donated by the artist Martin Wong 30 years ago and highlights more than 300 pieces of graffiti artwork.
In support, we’ve connected with 3 of the artists featured in the exhibition to be a part of our UTMe! program. Each artist has shared two artworks each, which will be available for sale at our 5th Ave and Soho stores from November 22nd- August 10th (the length of the exhibition).
